What a Move Up Does
Butterfly Move Up resets the placement of your extensions as natural hair grows, keeping the wefts close to the scalp for comfort and a natural fall. Maintenance is recommended every six to eight weeks; our busiest months are Jul, Aug and Jan because they fall six to eight weeks after late-spring and early-winter installations.
In a move-up appointment the stylist evaluates regrowth, repositions or replaces butterfly wefts higher on the head, and blends pieces for a seamless line. Clients value hands-on care and clear goal-driven planning; our team’s experience across k-tip, tape-in, straight weft and butterfly installs helps maintain color, fit and the look they expect.
How the Adjustment Is Made
Expect a short consultation to check comfort, scalp spacing and blending before any adjustment begins. The stylist will assess attachment points and move the butterfly wefts or adjust spacing so tension is even; choices depend on your hair growth pattern and the condition of existing extensions rather than a fixed template.
Most Move Up appointments take 60 MINUTES and cost $155; this is the standard time to reposition and blend without full reinstall. Regular maintenance at six to eight week intervals reduces wear and keeps hair comfortable, which is especially relevant for clients planning around seasonal events or frequent activity.
Choosing Your Maintenance Window
Schedule based on your lifestyle and calendar — evening and weekend slots accommodate families, shift workers and commuters in the Marion Road corridor and I-229 commuters. We serve Sioux Falls and nearby towns like Brandon, Tea, Hartford, Harrisburg and Crooks, making short pre- or post-commute appointments practical for busy clients.
Plan around the busiest months — Jul, Aug and Jan — if you need specific days or times; these months align with the six to eight week maintenance window after major installation seasons. If you have upcoming events or a change in routine, let us tailor timing to reduce disruption and preserve your look.
